Jamabandi
The record of rights, revised periodically, used in north and west India.
Jamabandi is the record of rights maintained in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and elsewhere, listing owners, cultivators, the land they hold and the revenue due. It is revised on a fixed cycle, commonly every five years, so an entry can lag a recent sale until the next revision or a mutation is recorded.
