Child sex ratio
Females per 1000 males counting only children aged 0 to 6.
Child sex ratio uses the same formula as sex ratio but counts only children aged 0 to 6. Because it excludes migration almost entirely, it is read as a cleaner signal of sex selection at birth and of survival in early childhood. It fell nationally between 2001 and 2011 even as the overall sex ratio rose.
